Referral/Affiliate Extension for Sweet Tooth

Features and Description

Once installed administrators will be able to create customer behavior rules with three new customer behavior conditions:

  1. Earn points when referral signs up
  2. Earn points when referral makes first order
  3. Earn points as a percentage of the points that the referred customer earns (TIER 1 AFFILIATE).
  4. Earn a fixed amount of points for each purchase made by the referred customer

These will also inherit all standard customer behavior rule functionality.

Referral functionality features a whole new customer My Referrals section where customers can send referral e-mails with fully customizable e-mail templates.

Customers can...

  • monitor their accumulated points from their referrals
  • monitor the status of their referrals (if they signed up, made an order, etc)
  • include a custom messages in their referral e-mails
  • choose to be notified when referrals do actions that get them points
  • refer customers by code, e-mail or URL (depending on admin config)

How does it work?

The referral program uses the customer’s e-mail upon sign-up to track referrals. It doesn’t matter when the user visits or what link is used. Let’s say Joe wants to start earning points for his referrals. The way it currently works is that an affiliate must be a customer first by creating an account. So, Joe creates an account on your store. After he has created the account Joe can then send referral e-mails, URLs or Codes to anyone through the customer account My Referrals interface. When a user signs up (to the store) with an e-mail address or other referral method that Joe sent out, that new customer will become Joe’s referral. All subsequent rewards will go to Joe.
